Marathon Resident Information

The Town’s critical and essential services, including fire services, drinking water & wastewater treatment, snow clearing, and essential front counter customer services will continue. The Town will isolate critical Staff so to ensure the continuation of essential services.

Our phone lines will remain open from 8:00am- 4:30pm Monday-Friday 807-229-1340 and email info@marathon.ca and we encourage residents reach out if they have questions. A drop box outside of Town Hall is available to drop off documents.  Residents are encouraged to delay any non-essential business or to consider conducting business online or by phone, where possible. Please call the Town Hall at 229-1340 to schedule an appointment if you require services that cannot be done over the phone or by email. 

Bag Tags are available at Circle K, SPG, and Canadian Tire and residential garbage pickup will continue as normal.

 

Recreation & Vaccine Policy FAQ’s:

Who is considered fully vaccinated?
People are considered fully vaccinated after receiving the full series of a COVID 19 vaccine or combination of COVID-19 vaccines approved by Health Canada. They must have received their final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before providing the proof of being fully vaccinated.
What can I show as proof of identification?

Identification documents that may be used as proof of identification include:

✅ Birth certificate

✅ Citizenship card

✅ Driver’s licence

✅ Government (Ontario or other) issued identification card, including health card

✅ Indian Status Card /Indigenous Membership Card (expired cards also accepted)

✅ Passport

✅ Permanent Resident card.

Validation of identification is considered to have been completed/successful when the name and date of birth of the presenter of the vaccination receipt and the name and date of birth on the identification document match. If the name and date of birth on both documents do not match, the individual will not be allowed to enter the business or organization.

 How can I get my proof of vaccination?
 Receipts are available:

-for first and second doses received in Ontario (once you get them)

-regardless of where you were vaccinated (for example, at a mass immunization clinic, hospital, pharmacy or primary care setting)

To log in and get your receipt, you will need:

a green photo health (OHIP) card(you will need numbers from both the front and back of the card, expired cards will be accepted)

your date of birth

your postal code (the one associated with your health card)

Vaccine receipts can be downloaded or printed to your computer, phone or tablet.

 What if I don’t want to disclose my vaccination status?

It is the discretion of the individual to determine whether they would like to disclose their vaccination status. Should they make the decision not to divulge this information, they will not be permitted to access settings that require proof of vaccination.

 Who exactly is able to provide exemptions?

Only medical doctors and nurse practitioners. This means that all other health care personnel, including alternative medicine practitioners such as naturopaths or chiropractors are not authorized to provide vaccine exemptions.

 In settings where you have to be vaccinated to attend, is recent negative test sufficient to attend if you are unvaccinated?

No, a recent negative COVID-19 test will not entitle a person to enter these settings. The only exemptions are for unvaccinated people with medical exemptions and people under 12 years old will also be permitted to enter these settings.

 Will individuals aged 11 and under be allowed to access settings requiring proof of vaccination?
Individuals aged 11 and under will be eligible to access these settings. If they are accompanied by an adult, the adult must be vaccinated.
